WHAT IS AFFILIATE MARKETING?

One way of taking things to the next level is by finding an alternate stream of income. 

That doesn’t mean starting a second business, but finding ways to complement and grow the business you have by offering more value to your customers and followers through social media marketing.

Affiliate marketing is an influencer advertising model in which a company compensates third-party influencers fashioned to generate traffic or leads to the company’s products and services. The third-party influencers are affiliates, and the commission fee incentivizes them to find ways to promote the company.

Simply put, affiliate marketing involves virtual marketing to a product or service by sharing it on social media platforms or websites. The affiliate earns a commission each time someone makes a purchase through the unique link associated with their recommendation.

The affiliate needs a website or a social media account such as Facebook or a YouTube channel. The affiliate’s website or channel’s niche would have to be included in the categories on the programs, such as beauty, finance, food, fashion, health,  travel, insurance, and loans/credit cards.

The website or channel must have web traffic. Therefore, Affiliate Companies could reject the application if it was a new website, account, or channel.

How to Start? The affiliates or social influencers must sign up for an affiliate program. The program is absolutely no fees to pay for registration. After filling out the form in the Publisher Type, you can choose the content (YouTuber, blogger, etc.) For Instagram and Facebook, you can choose Influencer. Then, you will need to wait for the confirmation email from the affiliate company. Once confirmed, you can log in to your account. However, it might not be fully accessible since the registration approval could take at least a day or two. You have to wait for the email confirmation that you can officially start virtually marketing the products or services.

What's next? The next thing to do is to set up the account since you may not be able to promote just yet. It would, therefore, be best not to leave anything blank to increase the likelihood of success. For your website/platform, you will need to put your web page or channel.  However, always refer to the affiliate program guidelines as each program has different requirements to get started and its own commission rates.
